The IAC Coaching Masteries: A Beautiful Interdependence – Mastery #4 [Infographic]

The IAC Coaching Masteries: A Beautiful Interdependence [Infographic]
by Natalie Tucker Miller, IAC-CC

We're often asked if some of the IAC Coaching Masteries are more important than others. The answer the certifiers continue to return to is a resounding "No."

When a coach provides a truly powerful coaching experience, all the Masteries are engaged. The Masteries were developed by determining the strengths and skills present in coaching sessions where positive client outcomes were sustained, and then parsing out those specific skills.

The following diagram is a simple example of this interdependence. I've randomly chosen Mastery #4, drawing on an element or two as it applies to the other eight Masteries. Of course, any Mastery in the center position will demonstrate how one Mastery builds upon the others.

(This is not a definitive diagram, rather an illustration of how and why each mastery is of importance in a coaching relationship.)
