In North America, the long summer days are giving way to longer evenings, cooler weather, and in some places beautiful fall colors as the leaves turn to yellow, orange, and red. And in some parts of the world, your summer is just beginning. Whatever your season, we hope you enjoy the changes. The Licensing Committee is continuing its work to seek more clarity around membership and licensing requirements and benefits. We’ve spent a lot of discussion time preparing several draft proposals to present to the Board of Governors. As these are only drafts at this point, it’s a bit early to report the details to the IAC membership. What we’d like most to accomplish with these proposals is to clarify the fee structure for new and renewal licenses and memberships, and to clarify the student member status of those currently enrolled in licensed schools. If all this sounds a little bewildering to you, then you have an idea of the time it takes to make sure we’re absolutely clear on all points of every issue and proposal. What this says is that “Clarifying” is a Mastery we ALL need to practice more! Revising the Handbook copy is tops on our “to do” list. We invite you to read through the Licensee Handbook, and let us know your suggestions for improvement, for clarifying, for making the Handbook more user-friendly. Committee members Deb Chisholm, Pepe Del Rio, Eduardo Vier and Charlie Boyer welcome your suggestions and comments. Contact the Licensing Committee at licensing@certifiedcoach.org.
